Don’t worry, I’m not going to suggest anything that will make your skin freak out. I am only here to help you glow and grow.
Ditch disposable cotton rounds and try Reusable cotton rounds
At one point in time, I was in LOVE with regular cotton rounds. I normally used them to place toner on my face. The cooling sensation, along with knowing the cotton rounds were removing the remaining dirt off my face, caused me to go crazy about cotton rounds. Over time I became somewhat annoyed by them. I am a somewhat lazy person and I was tired of constantly going to the store to get cotton rounds. Since I am a fan of trying out new tools, I came across a few videos that recommended using reusable cotton rounds. After spending time browsing and researching reusable cotton rounds, I finally decided to give them a try. This is the best transition I have taken when it comes to my beauty routine. First of all, I love the texture of the reusable cotton rounds. It feels like it gently scrubs the extra dirt off my face when I apply toner. Secondly, I am no longer making random trips to the store just to buy cotton rounds. The lazy girl in me has been feeling cozy since the switch. Lastly, my pockets are happier. I can now save my money for little things, like coffee.
Your Face Mask does not have to be trendy
In the beauty industry, a million products are thrown in our faces every day. At the moment it is trendy to throw on a quick sheet mask. Yes, yes I too have fallen victim to the sheet mask craze. However, after analyzing my money and how wasteful sheet masks can be, I decided to hop off the sheet mask wave. Normally, sheet masks are sold in individual pouches. If you enjoy pampering your face 2 times, or more, a week be prepared to see how much you are truly wasting at the end of each week. Not only is your trash piling up, you often tend to spend more money on individual masks. Instead of making the Earth and your pockets unhappy, opt for a face mask that can be used multiple times. This helps to reduce waste, and most of the plastic used for these products can be recycled.
Say goodbye to disposable razors
This tip is for those who prefer to remove hair from their body without pain. Of course, the best way to help save our planet is to let it grow, however, some of us prefer to have smooth skin in certain areas. As we all know, the price of disposable razors is quite ridiculous. Especially the razors marketed to women. Yes, a good reusable razor can be pretty pricey, however, the price tag is worth it in the long run. Although I have not tried this option, I have been told that reusable razors give a cleaner shave.
Switch to brands with a recycling program
Over the past few years, more and more companies have been implementing a recycling program. Companies, such as MAC, may give you a free product if you send five back. I love this because you are essentially getting paid for helping Earth. On the other hand, some companies make sure their products are biodegradable or pe their product in a reusable vessel. If you did not know, Spring Tyde places all of our body butters in glass jars. Once you finish the body butter, all you have to do is clean it out and turn it into a make-up brush holder, coin jar, etc.
As you can see, there are many easy ways we can help make our beauty routine more eco-friendly. Please remember we can’t change the actions of the world, however, we can tweak actions of our own to make the world a better place for future generations.
Love these tips! Thank you!
